Close Apart (Chapter-8)

Close Apart
Chapter-8
“Here She Comes…”

Still coping with the pain of leaving his ‘lady love’ for the rest of the week, Aditya dragged himself towards the platform where Rajdhani Express was about to arrive.

Komal was coming in the couch AS2. So when the train arrived Aditya went near the coach and waited for her to pop out.

A few moments later a young girl came out. Aditya had some genuine doubts about her being Mr. Arora’s daughter, he never thought that his daughter could inherit such beauty, but when he saw that she was actually giving a feel of looking for someone, Aditya approached.

“Excuse Me, Miss Komal Arora?”

“Yeah!?”

“Aditya here, Actually Mr. Arora had an important appointment so…”

“But Dad Said that he’ll be here!!”

“It was a last minute change!!”

“Look! I don’t need this…”

“Excuse me?”

“I mean I don’t need anyone to receive me at the station and escort me to my home!! I am old
enough to handle these things.”

“I can understand…”

“No you can’t! So just show me where the car is?”

Aditya always had this complaint that he can’t control his temper, but keeping in mind that arguing with boss’s daughter was not at all a bright idea, he decided to keep quite.

Once in the car, Komal was a little bit settled. Aditya never had the slightest urge to have a look at Komal in the back-seat. Although he realized that she was one of the most beautiful girls he has ever met in his life!

Komal was around five and a half feet in height, her complexion was somewhat resembling to those milk chocolates that kids crave to have, her eyes were green and her hair was colored with a shade of brown which, I guess is a mystery! (Readers, don’t doubt on Aditya’s intentions!! That was me briefing you all on how she looks… Gorgeous!)

Aditya was too much engulfed in Amrita’s memories to notice anything around, so he literally jolted when Komal spoke.

“Excuse Me! Aditya, right? Eh… I am sorry!”

“For What?”

“For behaving so rudely at the station.”

“It’s alright!”

“No its not! Please forgive me!”

“O.K.”

And a short silence prevailed.

“You work in dad’s office?”

“Yeah…”

“And you are…”

“Software Consultant…”

“I just finished my Journalism study.”

“Hmm...”

“Are you always so short in speech?”

“Listen Madam, streets of Kolkata demands more attention while driving, so it’s not a good idea to drive as well as chat!!”

“O.K.”

Aditya parked the car in Mr. Arora’s apartment’s parking lot. His flat was on the 3rd floor. Aditya hauled the luggage in front of the door, pressed the doorbell for her and said.

“Goodbye Madam!”

“Call me Komal. See Ya!”

The Way Beyond (Prologue)

I woke up!  It was dark, tried opening  my eyes, didn't do much help. As if I was inside a void with only darkness around me .  I opened my eyes and the darkness flooded in! I tried remembering where I was, tried remembering something that  could explain why I am here, all in vain. My head hurt and I couldn't recall  anything. It felt like the time has collapsed on itself and now there is nothing else, well except for this dark void.  They say your lizard brain wakes up in these situations. From the depths of your consciousness, and attempts to guide your instincts to safety. I see something now! Maybe my eyes have finally adjusted themselves to this darkness. Something familiar comes into my vision, laying in front of me. A leather spined book on top of a towel, an old leather bound book. I looked around, I was sitting in the shade of a tree. Can you still call it a shade when there is nothing but darkness around? Like if a tree falls in...
